Join country folk duo County Hwy PD<\/em><\/strong> as they start each movie night with a few songs from each episode of Country Music<\/em><\/strong> before we watch this legendary series.<\/p>

Country Music<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0documentary<\/a>\u00a0miniseries<\/a>\u00a0created and directed by\u00a0Ken Burns<\/a>\u00a0and written by\u00a0Dayton Duncan<\/a>\u00a0that premiered on\u00a0PBS<\/a>\u00a0on September 15, 2019. The eight-part series chronicles the history and prominence of\u00a0country music<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0American culture<\/a>.<\/p>

Country Music<\/em><\/strong> presents country music from its earliest stars, such as the\u00a0Carter Family<\/a>, and\u00a0Jimmie Rodgers<\/a>, followed by influential singers of the likes of\u00a0Hank Williams<\/a>, through to notable acts of the second half of the 20th century such as\u00a0Johnny Cash<\/a>,\u00a0Willie Nelson<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Dolly Parton<\/a>, finishing in the 1990s.<\/p>

County Hwy PD<\/em><\/strong> is the musical duo P<\/strong>rentice Berge (guitar) & D<\/strong>aithi Wolfe (fiddle) who have played many of the songs used on the Country Music<\/em><\/strong> soundtrack all their lives. From 2014-2020 County Hwy PD<\/em><\/strong> performed monthly two-hour concerts where they often featured the music of just one musician\/band, many of whose stories are told in Country Music.<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>In 2020, shortly after the series first aired on PBS, Prent and Daithi presented two full-length concerts from the series. It was lots of fun, and they\u2019re looking forward to playing a few of the tunes from each episode prior to Muso showing them on their big screen.<\/p>

Episode 1: \u201cThe Rub\u201d (Beginnings \u2013 1933) <\/strong>– June 24<\/p>

Episode 2: “Hard Times\u201d (1933 \u2013 1945) <\/strong>\u2013 July 1<\/p>

Episode 3: \u201cThe Hillbilly Shakespeare\u201d (1945 \u2013 1953)<\/strong> \u2013 July 22<\/p>

Episode 4: \u201cI Can\u2019t Stop Loving You\u201d (1953 \u2013 1963)<\/strong> \u2013 August 5<\/p>

Episode 5: \u201cThe Sons and Daughters of America\u201d (1964-1968) <\/strong>– August 26<\/p>

Episode 6: \u201cWill the Circle Be Unbroken\u201d (1968 \u2013 1972) <\/strong>\u2013 September 2<\/p>

Episode 7: \u201cAre You Sure Hank Done it This Way\u201d (1973 -1983)<\/strong> \u2013 September 23<\/p>
