Ever wonder how movie music actually gets made? Join Hollywood film composer, Chris Thomas (Don’t Look Back, Lost, CSI:NY, Kardashians, Golden Bachelorette) for a lively evening pulling back the curtain on the magic of film scoring. We’ll dive into how composers break down a script, analyze scenes, sync music to picture, and craft the emotional heartbeat of a film. Whether you’re a movie buff, music lover, or just curious how it all works—this is your backstage pass to the sonic world of cinema.

Chris Thomas is a composer for film, theme parks, video games, and a TED speaker. He has won a Hollywood Music in Media Award, American Prize in Composition, and a Global Music Award. He has been nominated for a Film & TV Music Award, International Sound & Film Music Crystal Pine Award, and a Palm Beach International Music Award. Chris has written music for several Emmy-nominated films, and for the film, Woman Rebel, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award. In television, he works as a composer, orchestrator, and conductor for productions such as Lost, CSI:NY, Found, The Kardashians, and Vice. In the realm of video games, Chris has worked on The Void (4D Games), Kitaru, Hyde’s Hide & Seek, and currently scoring a series of games for Fortnite. Chris’s work can be heard in theme parks all over the world. He has written music for the Evermore Adventure Park, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Queen Mary Chill, Dreamland Theme Park (UK), Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, Ink: Stories on Skin, Seismique, and many more. His music for the concert hall has been performed in notable venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl. His Malheur Symphony was the subject of his TED Talk in 2019.
