Molly Nova Trio & Silver Morning Duo

September 19, 6PM – 8PM:  Silver Morning & Molly Nova

The Molly Nova Trio’s main motto is, “What Molly wants, Molly gets,” therefore we have incorporated a wide variety of musical genres into our compact band.  In a typical performance you are likely to hear Jazz Standards, original rock songs, folk songs and of course, Bossa Nova.

Berlinda Lopez obtained her Doctor of Musical Arts degree under an Advanced Opportunity Fellowship through UW-Madison, a Master in Music degree in performance from the University of North Texas, and a Bachelor in Music degree in performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has performed with Madison Savoyards, Inc., Madison Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Janesville Armory Dinner Theatre, Laredo Symphony Orchestra, Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra, and Arlington Wind Symphony. Currently she performs with Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra, Edgewood Chamber Orchestra, Fresco Opera, Pegasus Wind Symphony, Spring Night Flutes, and Silver Morning flute & guitar duo. In her spare time, she plays ice hockey as a goalie for women’s & co-ed hockey leagues.

Steve Waugh.  Steve’s older sister worked hard and saved her money so that she could buy a guitar and take lessons.  Steve, on the other hand, never worked a day in his life (a true guitar player), rescued the guitar from its tomb in a closet and started playing, “Last Train to Clarksville.”  His most revered musical influences at the time were The Beatles (first and foremost), The Monkees and the fabulous musical comedy team, The Smothers Brothers.  Steve went on to study classical guitar with Javier Calderon at the UW-Madison where he earned his bachelor and master degrees while studying classical guitar, jazz improvisation, composition and a whole host of diverse subjects.  Now he makes music with his daughter’s band, Molly Nova (daughter Molly on vocals and Berlinda Lopez on flute) and the flute and guitar duo, Silver Morning.

Silver Morning

Together, they form the flute and guitar duo, Silver Morning, with the intention of expanding their musical horizons and providing an enriching musical experience for their audiences.
