A Prayer for Peace is a reflection on what it means to seek peace in a time and place torn apart by violence, partisanship, and isolation. It is an acknowledgment that peace is not a simple or linear goal, but rather one that carries with it frustration, uncertainty, and grief.
In writing this work, I attempt to grapple with these and other challenging emotions which have compounded over the last several years – but also to imagine a more hopeful future.

Vilasi project bio:
The Vilasi Project is the duo of Bella Clinton and Matt Wisotsky, who first met in Vienna, Austria and years later reconnected in Madison, quickly discovering a shared drive to keep creating and exploring music together. The name “Vilasi,” meaning “luxurious” in Nepali, pays tribute to Bella’s family’s work in Nepal and reflects a commitment to richness in sound, spirit, and generosity. It also honors her mother’s ensemble, The Vilasi Quartet, continuing a legacy of creating music.
Blending Matt’s versatility on woodwinds with Bella’s harp, the duo thrives on unexpected instrumental pairings. Rooted in classical training, their performances expand into improvisation, intuitive listening, and real-time collaboration, making each set a unique musical conversation.
In this special benefit concert for the UN International Day of Peace, The Vilasi Project presents music inspired by this year’s theme, ‘Invest in Peace,’ including the premiere of a new work by Vilasi’s composer, Matt.
The concert will be from 5:45-6:45 on 9/21/26. Admission is free, with a $10 or more suggested donation for the cause of musician’s choice.
