8-week Irish mandolin class with Davey Harrison

$195 (Scholarships available)
Registration: https://forms.gle/9eTB27mFozDouZNi9

Join roots musician Davey Harrison in this 8-week course as we explore the mandolin’s evolving role in Irish music. Though often not considered a core instrument in an Irish ensemble, the mandolin is growing in popularity and has the ability to apply ideas from other instruments such as the fiddle, guitar, and bouzouki.  We will learn various ways of playing accompaniments and melodies on tunes and songs and address the differences between reel and jig picking patterns.

Pre-requisites: Students should be comfortable playing basic chord shapes and simple melodies at a moderate tempo.

Materials: Each student will need a mandolin for the duration of the class. All other materials will be provided.
