Come to listen. Come to play a song or two. We at Muso want to share our space so you can share your music with a friendly neighborhood audience. We’ve got great lighting, an awesome stage, comfy seating, and a few snacks to share. Doors open at 6pm for sign-up and performers start at 6:30pm.
What do we have to offer musicians?
- A fun, supportive, friendly atmosphere
- Two Ear Trumpet vocal mics and light amplification
- Acoustic grand piano
- Professional stage and lighting
- Both original songs and covers are welcome
- Music stands
- Back up musicians if requested (Prentice guitar, Cindy cello/banjo/mandolin/ukulele)
- Seating for up to 50 of your close friends and neighbors
Open Mic Procedure:
- Doors on open mic evenings at 6pm for sign ups. Write your name(s) on a provided slip of paper and place it in the owl.
- At about 6:25pm we pull the first two names from the owl. This is how we choose the first performer and on deck performer.
- Performances begin at 6:30pm.
- As each performer is called to the stage, we pull another name for the next “on deck” performer until all names have been called.
- For any late arriving performers, we take their name and they get to play if any time is left at end of evening.
- 2-3 songs (approximately 5-7 minutes) per performer is fairly typical. We will adjust as necessary to accommodate the number of performers on a particular evening.
- At the end of the night, if there is time, we will sometimes ask a performer who was particularly impressive to come up to play an encore.
Our dream is to create activities where music makers of all abilities and levels can gather to share music. We believe music can heal. We think everyone feels better after being around live music. Come share in our dream.
